Two US, eight Afghan soldiers killed in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON: Two US fighters were killed on Saturday when an Afghan armed force commando opened fire on them in eastern Afghanistan, the White House said.

Prior on Saturday, the US military affirmed that amid an overnight joint operation against the Taliban in southern Afghanistan, US air strikes erroneously killed no less than eight Afghan warriors and injured some more.

Afterward, an Afghan armed force commando opened fire at US fighters at a base in the Achin locale of Nangarhar area and murdered two US troopers and harmed two more. The Afghan warrior was slaughtered in kind fire.

White House Deputy Communications Director Raj Shah said President Trump had been educated of the circumstance.

Such insider assaults have occurred before in Afghanistan, bringing about both demise and wounds to US and Nato troopers.

The US air strikes that executed eight Afghan officers occurred in the radical held Nad Ali area of troubled Helmand, the US armed force said yet gave no points of interest.
